Day 19 — Shopping in Jakarta

Tomorrow at last we would fly home to Japan. Today the three of us would each go our own way and shop to our hearts' content, but first we decided to take a commemorative photo at Monas, the National Monument.

Our lodging for two nights, Tator, included breakfast. But tomorrow we were leaving early in the morning, so today was our only chance to eat it.

A cute cat with its kitten right near the lodging.

Monas, the National Monument, towering right near Gambir Station in the city centre.

From the top of Monas we could see the plain stretching on and on, and Jakarta's high-rises nearby.

In the square below Monas there's a foot-reflexology walkway.

Yamabe and KEN first took the TransJakarta bus to a shopping centre in a busy district called Blok M.

The three of us each enjoyed shopping or a train trip.

For our last dinner in Indonesia we ate something a little luxurious. It's a Muslim country, so no toast with alcohol.

Our trip in Indonesia, packed with memories, would finally end tomorrow.

To the next day
