Days 24–25 (27–28 Sep) — Going home
to Japan via U.S.A.

The day to go home had come at last. Honestly, I didn't want to go back. If I could speak English better, it's a country I seriously thought I'd like to live in one day. From the motel we had to go to the airport carrying a mountain of luggage.

We had been to A&W many times, but never once to Tim Hortons, so we decided to spend our last Canadian dollars at the branch in the airport. We thought it would be enough, but because of tax it came to slightly more. We paid the shortfall by credit card. The amount: 20 cents. I felt bad about that.

To Seattle it was the same small Horizon Air propeller plane as on the way out.

Farewell! Canada...

After taking off from Seattle, we could look down on the city from above. The tower that symbolises the city looked tiny too.

We passed over Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. We could see countless small islands. From the air they looked uninhabited.

We arrived safely in Japan. What awaited us back home was our graduation research and job hunting.
